Bah! Refunds! 0

May28

This is a Clickbank related rant…

I have a single PPC/Landing Page/Clickbank style campaign that I’m testing. I was breaking even, getting ready to start trying to shift it to the profitable side. Then I started getting refunds! These shifted me back into the loss category. I’m about ready to give up on this particular Clickbank product as it seems a little volatile.

Why write a whole post about this? I’ve been finding that refunds are important to watch for. If you get refunds, it’s cause a customer is either unsatisfied with a product, maybe they didn’t get what they thought they were gonna get. I’m thinking that since about 15% of my sales turn into refunds for this product, that I should maybe move on and test a new campaign.

Chalk that up to experience!

Even then – if I was able to make it profitable even with that type of refund rate, it would probably be worthwhile to keep the campaign going. But, since I’m still not able to profit at all on this particular campaign the refunds just are even more of a dagger.

So – if you are new to this stuff like I am – watch out for refunds on products. This can help you determine the quality of the product.
