It’s been a while…
Well, here I am, posting my second entry on this web site. I’ve learned a couple things over the last month or so.
Prioritizing.
I’ve recently been overwhelmed by stuff at work. In addition to that, a car accident set me back a week as well. What does this have to do with affiliate marketing? I’m just starting out and need to do this stuff in my spare time – and that spare time has been rare over the last month.
But, I tried to not let that affect my progress. I battled to at least get a half hour a day in to check and tweak the campaign I was testing. I gave up on blogging for a couple weeks so I could focus on the one thing that I really want to get going – a profitable affiliate marketing campaign.
Believe me when I say I would much rather write a couple blog posts than test and work on an affiliate campaign. But, I had to focus down on one top-priority project due to time being at a minimum. That’s just the way it goes. It was hard to stay focused but I gave it a good run.
Now that the distractions are over, I’m getting back into the swing of everything and I’ve also got the comfort of knowing that I didn’t really lose much traction on my main goal, even though several other small goals have been set back a bit. That’s just what you need to do sometimes. Take a step back and review everything you’ve got your hands in – and just focus on only what is really important to be working on. Then, when the dust clears and you have more time to dig back in, you won’t feel guilty about hanging your main goal out to dry for weeks.
