My landing pages need some work 0

Jun23

I’ve recently bailed out of yet another failed campaign. But, I’m not going to abandon this campaign completely. I’m thinking that I just need to work on my landing page techniques a bit and then revisite some of these campaigns that have failed.

In fact, I’m now moving away from the small one-page landing pages and will probably try the approach of putting together blog style web sites for some affiliate campaigns.

I’m starting to like the idea of using Wordpress as a landing page for a few reasons:

  • If the site works well and converts, it’ll be easy to start doing some SEO on the site to get some search engine traffic
  • Wordpress is super easy to set up anyways
  • I will be able to create landing pages for each ad group I create, with ease, which should help quality score and bid prices
  • I will be able to make the site look more legit to Google since it’ll have multiple pages of content and look more like a real site than a landing page

I’m a little leary about my ability to integrate Google Cash Automator tracking into a Wordpress site, I’ll have to figure out the best way to do that.

Anyways, I digress.

My landing pages. Yeah. They need some work. I’ve heard a lot of differing opinion about what works better, short landing pages or large landing pages within larger sites. It just seems to come down to “what works best when you test your campaign?”. Fair enough.

I’ve been recently working my way through the Clickbank Code video course. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, it’s pretty freaking good. It’s cleared up a lot of small things for me and is really helping me to understand better the whole world of affiliate marketing. It’s based around Clickbank almost entirely, but it’s a really good eye opener for somebody like me who is just starting out.

There is a module about creating web sites and landing pages. VERY GOOD STUFF. The main thing I’m gathering, besides all the good little tidbits about how to put together a slammin’ landing page, is that you need to tell a STORY.

Yep.

So, that’s what I’m focusing on. Rebuilding these landing pages for failed campaigns to tell a story.
