I’m having a good time with social bookmarking 0

Jul27

Who woulda thought it could be so fun? I’m finally starting to see the results of some consistent social bookmarking. I’m seeing more immediate impact to my traffic more from this than anything else I’ve tried so far.

What I like is that I’m able to just pretty much blog as normal on one of my niche sites, and after each post I submit to bookmarking sites using the Bookmarking Demon. It works pretty good. I get a lot of interested visitors and then they start digging through the content.

One thing that stood out so far is that my bounce rate has stayed steady. I was anticipating that maybe getting the bookmarking traffic was going to increase my bounce rate, but it didn’t. I’ve had StumbleUpon surges in the past that left me with ridiculous bounce rates and low read times for a day or two. While all the traffic is nice, it’s the traffic that stays and hangs out a while that I’m most interested in. For some reason a good chunk of the bookmarking traffic actually sticks around for a while.

I’m still waiting it out a bit to see how this impacts my SEO efforts. I’m currently monitoring traffic to see if I see any increase in traffic from search engines for some of the more popular pages.

Now I just gotta tackle this YouTube thing.
