Is Blogging Every Day Important? 0

Jul5

A very common question among people bloggers, new and experiences, is “How often should I blog?”

I ask myself this question all the time. I have never quite been able to figure it out, but I have a few arguments.

The first thing that I always think of when writing for a blog is “Would somebody who’s reading my blog find this interesting?”

If the answer is yes, or even maybe, I will usually move forward and write for the blog. Now, how often you have something worth writing about probably comes down to the blog topic itself. Some blog topics are worth writing about every day. Some are not.

Examples..

I have an example… I have a blog about aquariums. I add content to my blog when I have something interesting to share in regards to my aquarium. Interesting stuff doesn’t happen every day. However, interesting stuff does happen every few days. There is nothing wrong with posting something to that blog every few days, just as long as the consistency is there.

Another example, this web site. I add content to this web site almost daily. The main reason is that the stuff I write about on this web site is directly tied to stuff that I deal with every day while at work and play on the Internet. I have a lot of content fodder each and every day for this web site. Some days I might slow down a bit, but recently I seem to be able to get at least one post out per day, and I don’t see that slowing up any time soon so far!

Should you blog every day?

So, is blogging every day really important? It really just depends on your topic and desire to post.

What are some things you can look at to determine how often you should post?

  • Ask yourself, would your reader want you to post something every day? What type of reader do you have?
  • Are you blogging about current events/topics? You might need to post more often under these circumstances.
  • Do you want to post every day?

You’re not going to ruin your blog by not posting every day. Just make sure your content is good and keep things consistent.
