Why do I always stay up too late at night? 0
I’ve always been a night owl of sorts. When in college I would frequently stay up late enough to catch Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell – and he was on from midnight to 4am.
I seem to work best at night, that’s when my mind is going full steam. This is starting to be a bad thing for me though.
When staying up late, I always get in a groove on something. Some nights it’s coding and programming. Some nights it’s researching a new possible campaign. Some nights it’s going through a training course or learning things.
Either way, I always end up staying up at least 2-4 hours later than I should have. Today I’m sitting at work with about 6 hours of sleep, which is actually pretty good these days!
However, when I have a good late night stint with all this web stuff, I always feel drained the next day. At least, I feel drained until about 8pm when my mind gets going again, once again preventing me from falling asleep at a reasonable hour.
What can a guy do about this?
Nothing. I just deal with it at this point. I can’t sneak in any naps at work during the day, there’s no couches at the office.
I’ll be a tired web guy until I can break free and work on my own again, when I can once again set my own schedules and create my own time.
