Market Samurai: “SEOTC” & “SEOUC” Are Back

Market Samurai is one of my favorite keyword research tools. I like it a lot, to put it lightly.

They’ve been going through a lot of glitches and changes recently, mainly because they are simply trying to keep up with changes in all the 3rd party services they pull data from.

Well, at one point, they simply had to drop the SEOTC and SEOUC data features in it’s keyword research module, with the main reason being that Google wasn’t making it easy to pull that data in bulk anymore.

For those that don’t know what that means, SEOTC shows how many search results contain the keyword in the title tag, whereas SEOUC shows how many search results contain the keyword in the URL. These numbers were useful for sizing up the quantity of pages/urls competing for keywords online.

This didn’t effect my use of Market Samurai too much since I didn’t rely on those two particular data items much, but many other Market Samurai users hated the fact that this got pulled.

Long story short – they’re back.

The Market Samurai team has figured out a way to bring this data back, even though it’s not quite as easy as before. You now need to pull in the SEOTC or SEOUC on a one-by-one basis, but even though it’s more limited in scope, you can still get the data if you need it. Better than nothing at all.
