Long story short, I’m a guy trying to figure out how to make a living with affiliate marketing. I’ve gotten deep enough into it (without really making any money yet) that I’m starting have quite a few experiences to share, both good and bad.
The goal of this blog is to give me a outlet to share ideas and experiences – and sometimes maybe even vent a little!
As an affiliate marketer I feel that I’ve come a long ways over the past year or so, but I still need to turn that corner and actually start making some money from it. I’m getting a lot of really good experience at this point and am getting a really good feel for how to go about things day to day. I just need it to all come together and actually start producing some monetary results!
I don’t want to give up, as I feel that I’ve got a really good chance of making something happen here. Coming from a web development background, I am able figure out all the technical stuff really easily. By that I mean I have no trouble learning how to use systems like Google Adwords and such, and have no problem developing sites and landing pages.
That certain amount of web design and development confidence is helping me to not have to focus much on how to build a landing page as much as how to build an effective landing page, for example. I feel this experience as a developer is helping me greatly as I try to make money through affiliate marketing. At the same time – if I can’t make a landing page convert it doesn’t matter that I was able to build it easily!
Anyways, I’m hoping that my experiences in trying to make affiliate marketing work for me will help out others who are embarking on the same journey.
Hopefully some day I will be able to re-write this page to reflect that fact that I am a successful affiliate marketer! Only time will tell.
What does WebGuy303 mean?
It doesn’t mean anything really. It just reflects that I’m another guy (person) trying to make money on the web through means other than a conventional day job. And I’m obviously not the first… so I couldn’t go with WebGuy1 for example.
Plus, the domain name is short and easy to remember, a convention that I try to stick to when picking domain names.
